Testing stories - Page 13
A historically neglected aspect of the software and broader IT industries, testing is the process,
procedures, activities and software used for quality assurance and the evaluation of the suitability of
devices, applications and systems created for the use of others. Those others are any users – from
consumers using an iStore app, through to businesses rolling out Enterprise Resource Planning solutions.
Testing is oft-neglected because it is complex, time-consuming and specialised, equating to ‘costly’. But
neglect testing at your peril, because failed deployments especially at enterprise scale, are even more
complex, time-consuming and difficult-to-resolve.
